Gifted and Talented Education

However, HSLDA may assist member families seekingrelated servicesthat have been denied because of homeschooling. We view this as a basic fairness issue, since according to the U.S. Department of Education, homeschooled students are entitled to related services in states where homeschools are considered to be private schools, but in other states, they are not. When enrolling in a church school, it is the parent’s responsibility to complete a church school enrollment form and submit it to the local public school superintendent. The teachers at the church school must maintain an attendance record for all the students and school days of the school year. Higher learning institutions such as community colleges or public universities, cannot deny enrollment to homeschool or non-public school students.
That reorganization, though, and the underlying effort, will have much to do with reviving the American education system, and reviving a national love of learning. The Edvocate plans to be one of key architects of this revival, as it continues to advocate for education reform, equity, and innovation. The Edvocate was created in 2014 to argue for shifts in education policy and organization in order to enhance the quality of education and the opportunities for learning afforded to P-20 students in America. What we envisage may not be the most straightforward or the most conventional ideas.
Cover school is another name for church school or umbrella school. Up until 2014, this was the only way to homeschool in the state of Alabama. When researching cover schools, umbrella schools, or church schools, the names are frequently used interchangeably.
